Running Toward: Adventuring

I mentioned briefly on Friday that I’m signed up for a fall adventure. Swamp donkey! This race has been on my radar for a couple of years but given that I don’t canoe, have never mountain biked and get lost on well marked roads…I figured it would maybe be something to do in a few years when I’d hopefully have developed some outdoorsy skills and possibly a sense of direction. I’m really excited to be doing this event this year. Ignorance being blissful and all, I figured I should probably try to prepare myself as much as possible of the Read More …

Friday Fast Notes

Alright, life is busy right now. Lots of time unplugged and enjoying the summer. Hard to believe it’s coming to a close in just a few short weeks. But so not to leave you hanging (because you live and breathe based on the grammatical train-wreck that is this blog…) here’s some of the stuff that’s happening in my world these days: We’re just finishing up a week of swimming lessons for my 4 year old. 3rd time’s a charm to graduate from Sea Otter…right?! Seriously, he’s done amazingly well this time around. He’s getting comfortable, listening well and only a Read More …

Hiking Grandfather Mountain

Quite possibly my favorite day of our vacation was our last day before traveling home. Hubby and I got to enjoy a day-date while the grandparents took care of the kids. Dates in general, are few and far between for us. Time, energy and babysitting are in short demand in this stage of life. Hubby and I also have differing views of what makes a good date. For me, doing something active or going out for a nice dinner somewhere is where it’s at. Hubby likes the more traditional movie. I’m not a fan of movies hence our dating dilemma. Read More …

Dirty Donkey Recap

As of now, I’ve done 2 of my 3 planned obstacle races for the year. The more I do, the more I love them. Tell my younger self that this is what I would be doing for fun and she’d probably try to slap some sense into my current self. It’s pretty awesome. The day started off less than stellar. Sore throat and chills to be exact. Thankfully, my determination (and a butt ton of Tylenol) had me on the road feeling only mildly craptastic. I wasn’t about to let some germs get the better of me (at least not yet!). Read More …

Becoming Legandary

I write this little blog mostly for myself. Few people pay much attention to it and I hardly envision it growing into a “thing”. It’s my piece of the world where I can write what I want, when I want and not feel judged, misunderstood or like I don’t measure up. Over the years I’ve really been working hard on walking the road of being comfortable in my own skin and not worrying so much about what people think about me. Once in a long while, someone takes notice and wants to give a shout out to what I do. Read More …
