Running Toward: No Apologies

I feel like a bit of a broken record when I say that I realize that things around here have been a bit sparse. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I make no apologies about not posting more often. I know for a fact that the two of you that actually tune into my ramblings aren’t hanging onto my every word like your last thread of sanity so I feel ok about living life off the open track. That said, I must confess that although I enjoy not worrying about writing some trifle of relevance on a Read More …

Winter Miles and Treadmill Trials

After a harsh snap of winter last week that saw my face literally freeze and fall off my head, I’m happy to be waking up to some balmier weather for this week. There is nothing that gets inside my head faster than frigid winter weather. I don’t mind snow, I don’t mind if it gets colder but when you freeze and can’t warm up and the roads are sheets of ice and you’re trying to cart kids around…no thanks. So my sincerest apologies to anyone and everyone that my grumpiness may have affected (none of whom likely read this blog). Read More …

My Personal Thoughts on Polar’s New M200 Running Watch

Disclaimer: I’m a 2016 Polar Ambassador and as such have received an M200 to review and no cost. All opinions are my own. So I’ve been using the new Polar M200 for a few weeks now. I’ve already given you a rundown of some of the features of the watch here, so now it’s time for my own thoughts. First and foremost, the M200 is a running watch. It has integrated GPS, wrist-based heart rate monitoring and gives you display options during your run so that you have easy access to the data that is most important to you on Read More …

Running Toward: Zip, Zilch, Nadda

I don’t know where time is going but I’m in shock that tomorrow is November already. This fall has been nothing, if not crazy. In spite of the busyness of our every day, I’ve had quite a bit of writer’s block lately. I don’t have a single thing to write about. Even though we have lots going on, none of it is really worthy of writing about. We do swimming lessons, skating lessons, I work out, I work, the kids are endlessly sick (curse you germs!). I guess I don’t see the value in writing about every minute detail of Read More …

bRUNching it with Lululemon

Last weekend, I participated in a fun 5k event here in town. Lululemon put on their first annual bRUNch run. I literally stumbled onto it randomly and it seemed like fun. And hey, it was only $20 (practically free as far as race registrations go) and promised some potentially decent swag. ¬†Budget friendly and free stuff? Yes please! It was not the nicest of days and after some hemming and hawing, I decided that running it was probably not the smartest thing to do. My knee has been in rough shape since Swamp Donkey last month. Remembering back to last Read More …
