Running Toward: Recovery

Friends…this past weekend was WILD. And not in the gun-slinging Wild West kind of way (though I did learn a tactical get-up so if I ever decide to hold up a bank, I’ll look dang impressive doing it). More in a “I’m-so-freaking-tired-spent-sore-pumped-what-the-holy-heck-have-i-gotten-myself-into” kind of way. I took on a beast of a challenge in the Strong First Kettlebell instructor course. My hands blistered and bled, my ego and self-confidence were tested to the absolute max as lack of good sleep (thanks baby) coupled with the physical demands of the weekend beat me to the ground. I have never in my life felt that much exhaustion or physical fatigue.

It’s going to take me a few days to fully recover from the weekend. Lots of sleep, lots of good nutrition for recovery and self-care are key to getting back to feeling good.

I’ll talk more about the weekend at some point this week but for now, know that I’m still alive and concentrating on recovery and catching up with my family.

Have an awesome week friends!
